Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint (Download) is a compact, fast and easy to use tool that will help you recover data from damaged Microsoft PowerPoint files in the PPT or PPTX (for PowerPoint 2007 and 2016) format. Since the software is intended for a very wide general audience, absolutely no prior recovery experience is required to successfully extract presentation data from a corrupted file and send it to PowerPoint for editing and saving. The developers of the program went at great lengths to drastically simplify the interface of the program and make it as self-explanatory and intuitive as at all possible. However, we also created this manual that explains the basics of using Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint, so please refer to this document prior to using the program or contacting technical support with an issue.
In case Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint cannot recover your presentation data, feel free to use the Send source file command from the main program menu. The program will attach the current file to a new email message (using the default email client) and send it directly to the development team. Once the file is received by the company's technical support team, they will attempt to recover your data and will use this opportunity to improve the program's recovery engine. They will contact you as soon as possible with an update on the results of their effort.
Note that the recovery process may take some time, as presentation files can be quite large and contain lots of media files of different types. Therefore, the duration of each step directly depends on the size of the PPT/PPTX file being processed and the speed of your processor.
Below is a detailed usage guide for Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint. Please read it attentively before using the program - it provides answers to a number of typical questions about the program. Should you still have questions about Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint, please do not hesitate to contact our support department. We will be glad to assist you with your problem.
The first step of the wizard allows you to select the damaged file you want to recover data from. This can be done in one of the following ways:
Once the file has been selected, you can proceed to the next step by clicking Next.
This step of the wizard is 100% automated. Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint will scan the structure of the specified presentation file and extract all the images and media objects it has managed to detect. The duration of this process depends only on the complexity and size of the file being recovered and the speed of your computer. At the end of this stage, the program will display additional information about file recovery.
Please note that since Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint passes recovered presentation elements to Microsoft PowerPoint for editing and saving, it must be installed on your computer at the time of recovery. The software works identically for PPT and PPTX files and saves both the presentation and all media files to a separate folder on your hard drive. You can view the extracted items after the end of the recovery process.
Charts from PowerPoint 2007-2016 files will be inserted into reconstructed presentations as bitmap images. However, you can also use Microsoft Excel for this purpose (it must be installed on your computer) - the program will open a new Excel workbook and will paste the recovered charts there. You can then edit or copy/paste them directly into PowerPoint.
At this point, you can click Transmit to send the recovered data to PowerPoint, click Exit to stop using the recovery wizard or go back to the file selection step using the Back button.
Once you click Transmit at step 2, Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint will do the following:
You can now edit your presentation and save it under a new name in a safe location.
As you see, using Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint is a snap. Just follow the instructions and the program will take care of the rest. If you, however, have any issues with the program, our customer support department will always be glad to assist you!
